Getting started with Zerohive¶
The usual starting journey is to establish your account, obtain membership in the right organization, open that workspace and choose an available product. You may already have completed some of these stages.
This guide helps you choose the right path. The linked task guides supply the precise screen instructions and recovery steps based on the inspected frontend and newer 06 Final Screens designs. Their implementation differences remain part of the instructions.
Draft and availability: Account screens are partly connected, while several administrative and product journeys remain unfinished. These pages do not establish availability in a live environment or a completed reader walkthrough.
Prepare the information you need¶
Use the Zerohive address supplied for your environment. Have access to the email address associated with your account or invitation. If you are asking to join, obtain the exact short workspace name and confirm the permitted email-domain requirements with the organization's administrator.
If you already have an activated account, use it. If you forgot the password, use password recovery. If you deactivated the account, use account recovery. Registration, password recovery and account reactivation solve different problems.
You do not need to create another organization simply to join an existing one. Workspace creation establishes a new organization and has its own ownership and commercial requirements.
1. Establish and activate your account when needed¶
Follow Create your account, then Activate your email and choose a password.
Registration records your name and email and leads to activation. Activation verifies the email and establishes the password. A newly invited person may already have an account awaiting activation; repeated registration is not the way to complete it.
Use the newest activation code for the correct account and purpose. Follow the guide when a code is missing or an error appears: the current screen can label failures as expiry even when the cause is different.
Expected outcome: an activated account that can proceed to sign-in. This does not by itself establish membership or product access.
2. Sign in and complete the requested verification¶
Follow Sign in with the account's email and password. Complete additional verification when requested. Some valid sign-ins do not require an account-level code; a workspace may still ask for its own verification later.
Account activation, sign-in, security-setting changes and workspace entry use different code purposes. A code from one process should not be used to complete another.
Expected outcome: account access and the opportunity to continue to workspace access. If sign-in fails, use the sign-in troubleshooting guide. A successful login does not grant missing organization membership.
3. Confirm how you join the organization¶
Choose the path that matches your situation:
| Situation | Action and expected result |
|---|---|
| You already have active membership | Continue to workspace selection; no new invitation or join request is needed |
| You have an invitation | Review the invitation, check the organization, role and response date, and record your decision |
| You need to request membership | Ask to join using the exact short workspace name; a sent request waits for an administrator's decision |
| You intend to create and administer a separate organization | Read workspace creation and its ownership, plan and payment requirements first |
Invitation acceptance and a submitted join request have different outcomes. A sent request is not membership, and a missing request is not proof that it never existed. The current request list has a loading-failure ambiguity; check existing workspaces and ask the administrator to confirm an uncertain result before submitting again.
An email invitation link currently has a documented destination limitation. The invitation guide explains the connected account inbox route. Do not substitute a similarly named organization or create a replacement account.
4. Open the correct workspace¶
Follow Choose or switch a workspace. Confirm the organization name and complete workspace email verification if requested.
Expected outcome: the selected workspace's available product choices, or an explanation of the condition preventing entry. Your authority is checked in that workspace; administrator access in another organization does not carry over.
A visible workspace or a Ready label is not the final access decision. Saved display information can outlast a change to membership, policy or product access. Use the choice and message explanations when entry is unavailable.
5. Choose your product and first task¶
Open the available product appropriate to your responsibility. Product eligibility, individual permissions and environment delivery are separate.
If a card says that the application is unavailable in the environment or not ready yet, ask the rollout owner which experience is currently supported. Buying another licence, changing profile details or repeatedly signing in does not implement an unavailable application.
Use the user starting page or capability map to find the guide for your task. Read its preparation, action steps, expected result and recovery section before relying on an important outcome.
6. Check the result and know how to recover¶
After an important action, inspect the returned state and the affected item. If the operation runs in the background, keep its original reference and follow its documented progress and recovery path.
If a response is lost or delayed, establish whether the original action succeeded before creating another. A changed list, email or success message may explain only one stage of a wider process.
For access problems, use Account and workspaces. For a business-action failure, use the relevant feature's recovery guidance and contact its authorized support owner with the workspace, item, approximate time and visible error.
When you finish on a device, follow sign-out guidance. A device sign-out is not evidence that every device or identity-provider session has ended.
