Manage an enterprise network¶
These steps describe the intended Tenant Admin experience from the newer Final Screens. The inspected frontend is a preview: its apparent send, create and save actions do not establish a persisted backend change. Use authorized support for real changes until your connected environment is verified.
Start with the correct workspace selected and open Enterprise in Tenant Admin. A workspace with no network sees creation and incoming-invitation choices. A linked workspace sees its enterprise overview. Confirm the workspace and network identity before acting.
Prepare for a network decision¶
Agree whether the workspace should found a new network or join an existing one. Confirm the intended organization, the responsible administrator and the current federation eligibility. Creating or joining has consequences for network administration; it does not approve every later exchange or purchase.
If creation or acceptance requires an upgrade, open Billing, review the actual available option and complete the separate commercial process. Return to Enterprise and refresh current eligibility. A preview showing a different plan, or a payment page closing, is not proof that the entitlement has been applied. See Billing and payment recovery.
Create a network¶
- In Enterprise, review Create a network and confirm that the selected workspace is ready to create.
- Enter Enterprise name and Enterprise link. Use a name colleagues recognize and check the link carefully.
- Confirm the named founding workspace and choose Create network.
- After a successful connected operation, verify the returned network name and link in the enterprise overview. Confirm that the founding workspace is linked and your Owner assignment is present.
If the link is already in use, choose another appropriate link. If the workspace is already linked, review that existing relationship instead of repeatedly creating another network. After a timeout or unclear response, check the current enterprise before retrying: the backend may have saved the first request.
Review an invitation to join¶
- Under Join an existing network, find the invitation and choose Review.
- Check the enterprise name, network link, sender, invitation state and actual expiry. Confirm that it belongs to the selected workspace.
- If eligible and authorized to join that organization, choose Accept invitation. If the relationship is not wanted, choose Reject invitation.
- After acceptance succeeds, verify the selected network and workspace link in Enterprise. After rejection succeeds, verify the recorded response.
The upgrade-required companion offers Go to Billing and Reject invitation. An upgrade does not reserve the invitation indefinitely: it may expire or the workspace's relationship may change before you return. Review the current invitation again.
Accepting one invitation does not automatically cancel the others. An existing link prevents acceptance into another enterprise. If you joined the wrong network, ask the responsible administrator or support team to investigate; this guide does not establish a self-service leave, transfer or unlink action.
Invite another workspace¶
This requires workspace administration and the appropriate enterprise management authority.
- From the enterprise overview, choose Invite workspace.
- In Find a workspace to invite, enter the target's exact Workspace slug and choose Find workspace.
- Check the returned workspace name and slug. Confirm its current federation eligibility, whether it belongs to another enterprise, and whether a pending invitation already exists.
- Choose Send invitation only when the reviewed identity matches the intended target and the action is available.
- Open Pending invitations and use View details to check the saved invitation, sender, state and expiry.
The recipient must accept before the workspace is linked. A pending invitation is not a successful join. If a duplicate is already pending, inspect it before trying again. If it expires, arrange a fresh invitation through the authorized manager after checking current eligibility. This inspected flow does not establish a withdrawal or resend button.
Review linked workspaces¶
Open Linked workspaces, locate the workspace and choose View details or the available review action. Review its identity, connection, publishing/receiving settings, governance and commercial responsibility.
Use search and filters to narrow the displayed roster where available. A filtered or preview count is not proof that a workspace has been added or removed. The “No additional workspaces” state means the founding workspace can still be part of the network. A pending invitation's detail cannot provide the full linked-workspace settings before acceptance.
If a relationship is on hold, inspect its current plan and eligibility with the responsible administrator. A plan change can affect enterprise-link eligibility; do not assume that the whole workspace or every member account has been deleted.
Assign or remove an enterprise role¶
The intended role-assignment dialog exists in Final Screens, but the role page's entry and prototype navigation need correction. The current preview is not a working administration path.
When the connected assignment entry is available:
- Open Network roles and the enterprise role-assignment action.
- Choose the Linked workspace that will anchor the assignment.
- Choose an active Workspace member from that workspace.
- Select the Enterprise role from the available catalog and review the selected person's current assignments.
- Choose Add enterprise role and verify the saved person, home workspace, role and access state in the roster.
An active duplicate role for the same membership is rejected. Selecting a person from another workspace without a valid linked membership is not a substitute for the workspace-first selection.
To remove an active assignment, choose its Remove role action. Check the read-only person, home workspace and role, then confirm Remove role. Verify that the assignment is inactive and remains in history. An already inactive assignment cannot be removed again as a new successful operation. This action does not remove ordinary workspace membership.
Set governance responsibilities¶
- Open Governance and locate the linked workspace.
- Choose Edit rules and confirm the workspace identity.
- Review the supported Security rule and Branding rule choices. Use disabled, advisory or required settings according to the agreed organization policy.
- Review the resulting governance posture, then choose Save rules.
- Reload the workspace's rules and verify the saved result.
The overall posture follows the area choices. Sharing and billing information in this dialog is context; saving governance rules does not edit those settings. “Required domains” is a governance classification, not a list of email addresses or email domains. Manage email-domain restrictions through the separate Access Policy guide.
Change commercial ownership¶
- Open Commercial and locate the linked workspace.
- Choose Open profile. Confirm its identity, plan, subscription, allocation information and last update.
- Review all six decisions: Invoices, Plan changes, Seat changes, Storage changes, Premium access, and Upgrade approval.
- For each decision, choose Enterprise or Workspace according to the agreed responsibility. Saving requires current enterprise commercial-management authority.
- Choose Save changes, then reopen the profile to verify the saved decision split and update information.
The change applies to that workspace's profile. It does not automatically purchase capacity, change the plan or rewrite every workspace in the network. If editing is blocked, read the actual reason and contact the responsible administrator. Do not interpret a closed preview dialog as a successful save.
Understand an audit detail¶
The intended audit experience opens from a reference to a particular shared exchange or published item. It shows a recorded action, decision result, explanation, stored policy summary and capture time. The detail represents the latest returned entry for that reference; it is not a full enterprise audit ledger or a complete history of every person's actions.
If no entry is available, confirm that you have the correct reference and ask the responsible administrator or support team about the related action. Do not infer that the action succeeded, that no activity occurred, or that an entry is guaranteed to appear merely because an unavailable screen is shown. Authorization and connected delivery for this path still require verification before this draft is accepted.
Resolve problems and verify outcomes¶
| Problem | Useful next step |
|---|---|
| An action is unavailable | Check the selected workspace, account/membership access, enterprise role and current eligibility |
| Invitation expired or already answered | Inspect its recorded state; coordinate a fresh invitation only when appropriate |
| Workspace already belongs elsewhere | Review the existing relationship; do not repeatedly accept a conflicting invitation |
| A save timed out | Reload the actual record before retrying or making a different change |
| Role or workspace is inactive | Review its current membership/link conditions with the responsible administrator |
| Commercial ownership saved but capacity is unchanged | Ownership and purchase are different operations; inspect Billing for the commercial change |
| A preview appears successful | Verify the connected service result; the current sample frontend does not persist these actions |
When asking for support, provide the workspace and network names, the action, approximate time and displayed message through your approved support channel. Avoid sharing credentials or unrelated private records. Managers should confirm who will act; executives should confirm the intended responsibility and organizational outcome. A successful backend response, current readback and an authorized person's review are different checks, and each may matter before the organization relies on the change.
