Staging draft Work in progress · For review; coverage and acceptance incomplete

Find your next task from Home

Intended journey, draft. These steps follow the four WorkOS Home 06 Final Screens roots inspected on 2026-10-11. Current frontend routes have a live loading path for each tab, while local design-preview mode retains examples. The frontend remains work in progress; connected code and these intended steps do not prove availability or complete data in your environment.

Before starting, sign in to the correct organization, enter WorkOS, and confirm the workspace name. Your permissions determine which destination pages and actions you can use. If you cannot enter WorkOS, follow the workspace access guide.

Move between Home views

  1. Select Home in the left navigation.
  2. Choose Overview, My work, Requests, or Documents beneath the Home heading.
  3. Read the selected tab before interpreting a count. The tabs combine different populations and preview limits.
  4. Use a named Open… row in Choose a workspace, or the main navigation, to continue into the feature you need.

The inspected frontend opens My work at the workspace root and uses separate routes for the other tabs. A support row opens the owning workspace; it does not establish that a particular card entry is already selected there. No direct approval, publication or signing action was verified on Home. Complete those tasks through their dedicated guides.

Get a workspace overview

  1. Choose Overview.
  2. Review the leading people, document, request and inbox cards with the count definitions in mind.
  3. Scan project and case status, request review work, record movement, shared work, and unread communication for areas to investigate.
  4. Read the recent activity preview as your own recent activity, even though the current design uses broader workspace wording.
  5. Use Open Requests, Open Records, or Open HiveComms in the support lane. Use the main navigation for Projects, Cases and other areas.

The Live summary label does not certify freshness or completeness, and local preview examples can carry the same presentation. The people count excludes ongoing leave; the document count is narrower than all platform documents. Confirm the relevant full workspace before making an assignment, reporting a total, or concluding that no action is needed.

Start with work assigned to you

  1. Choose My work.
  2. Review Your next approval decisions. Late work sorts ahead of warning-due work in the current summary; read the task context before deciding which item to open in Requests.
  3. Review recent requests, leave items and projects. Their counts describe selected lists of at most ten each, not your lifetime activity or entire workload.
  4. Read Unread work by lane to decide where to continue in communication. An unread message is not automatically an approval task.
  5. Use Open Requests, Open Leave, or Open Projects. Locate the item in the destination and verify its current state before acting.

Follow the request and approval guide, leave guide, or project guide for the complete task. A Home preview can become outdated while another person acts; it does not reserve the item for you.

Investigate requests that need attention

  1. Choose Requests.
  2. Review all requests, under-review, due-soon and late indicators. The broad summary and your personal previews have different scopes.
  3. Compare the next approvals and attention-required preview, then review your recent submissions.
  4. Use Open Requests to locate and act on a request under the normal request workflow. The support lane also provides Open Workflows and Open People for their respective workspaces.
  5. After a decision, correction or reassignment, verify the outcome on the request itself before relying on a later Home summary.

The current “approved” percentage measures completed workflows, and “rejected” measures returned workflows. A returned request may need correction and resubmission. The late/warning attention list is selected from the ten-item approval preview, so it is not an exhaustive risk report. The design's labels and explanatory copy are being reconciled with these meanings.

  1. Choose Documents.
  2. Review Busiest record lanes for work in workflow, registry review, awaiting filing and intake. The lane counts can exceed the number of previewed records.
  3. Review the approval preview and the memo/official-letter status groups. Verify the item type in its owning workspace: the approval source is a request-approval queue and is not guaranteed to contain only documents.
  4. Review inbound and outbound shared work. Each direction is capped at ten here; “need action” does not grant personal decision authority.
  5. Use Open Records, Open Correspondence, or Open Shared work, then locate the record, memo, letter or exchange and follow its feature guide.

Use the Records guide, Correspondence guide or Shared work guide. Viewing this tab does not file a record, publish a memo, issue a letter, accept an exchange or sign a document. Some current design samples show values above the corresponding preview limit; those examples must not be read as supported uncapped totals.

Recover when the result is unexpected

  • Example information appears: local design-preview mode can use sample snapshots. Confirm the correct workspace and use a configured, authorized live environment or a verified connected destination to check actual work. Refreshing a design preview does not by itself connect it to your real queue.
  • A tab will not load: check your workspace session and the visible message. A required contributing area may be unavailable or denied; a refresh does not grant missing permission. If it persists, give support the tab, time and safe reference; do not infer that the queue is empty.
  • A count or list is unavailable: missing or unusable data is different from a reported zero or a loaded empty list. Counts and item collections can be returned separately. Check the owning workspace before deciding that no work remains.
  • A destination is denied: ask the workspace administrator to confirm your intended role and permission. A visible Home link does not establish access.
  • An item is absent: inspect the owning list with its appropriate filters and access. Preview size, personal scope, changed status or permission can explain the difference.
  • Numbers disagree: first compare scope, units, period and preview limits. Do not add different cards together or overwrite source records to make counts match.
  • A decision may already have happened: open the actual record and check its saved result. Avoid repeating a business action based only on a stale Home card.

Desktop tab roots and source navigation were inspected. Mobile, keyboard, empty/loading/error companions and complete click-through behavior still require verification. This guide does not claim those flows or the underlying environment have passed acceptance.
