Explore departments, the organization and employee contribution¶
This guide follows the intended 06 Final Screens journey. The frontend is unfinished. The current backend source corrects the previously identified department-response mismatch and database query forms; a connected view and real database behavior still need verification. A populated design is not evidence that a connected view currently loads. Use these steps when the feature is available in your workspace.
Before you begin¶
Open the intended workspace with HiveOrbit access. Ask your administrator to check the specific department or organization view permission if a view is missing. Team-view permission alone does not grant employee-detail access. The service also needs your current employee and department identity. The workspace must have completed initial setup and still meet the conditions for HiveOrbit to operate. An administrator may need to review setup, source readiness or workspace access when reporting is unavailable.
Decide which period you want to understand, and check the displayed Workspace calendar. Current employee, hierarchy and license records determine whose information is eligible, including when an older contribution period is selected.
Open Department Orbit¶
- Open Department Orbit under People insights.
- In View context, check Department. Ordinary department access is limited to your current department. An organization head with the required permission can receive other authorized current departments; choose only a provided choice.
- Choose Period, Selected period, History shown and Sort members. The inspected example uses Month, August 2026, six months and Name A–Z.
- Check the workspace timezone and choose Update view.
- Review Department contribution, Licensed members and Evidence confidence together before reading the detail below.
Only the closed controls were inspected; their design does not establish every picker option, a mobile journey or a working selector handoff. The period service supports days, weeks, months and years. Do not infer an arbitrary date-range picker, saved view or export action.
The department choices and results can differ: a current authorized department can exist without licensed members. Selecting a past period does not restore former membership. If no department choice is available, have the administrator check access and current department records.
Understand the department result¶
Read Department Contribution History and Evidence Context first. A gap is unavailable information, not a zero. Six months ending in August means March through August; unused months in an illustrative annual chart do not establish requested data for the rest of the year.
Then read the Licensed Members table. The person's job title, analytical role, current contribution, change, evidence and recent history describe different things. An unavailable contribution remains visible in the roster where the person is eligible; it must not be replaced with an invented zero. The current department response supplies no member-detail action, so do not assume clicking a name opens Employee Contribution.
| Section | How to interpret it |
|---|---|
| Role and Cohort Context | A cohort is a recorded comparison group. Check the role, cohort, member count, mean and spread. Unavailable work type or complexity means that basis is missing. |
| Contribution Dimensions | Read the returned dimension values and unavailable cells. A full eight-column example does not prove all eight dimensions are available for every person. Color alone is not a rating. |
| Comparable Team Context | Read the first and second manager teams and the direction of each difference. These are descriptive pairs; equivalent roles and scoring bases have not been consistently established. |
The roster, dimension table and grouped sections can use different orderings and limits. A section ending does not prove that every possible group or pair was returned. The current backend can truncate secondary sections without a next-page indicator. The design does not establish a working way to retrieve all of them.
Open Organization Orbit¶
- Open Organization Orbit under People insights.
- Check your authorized scope. An organization-wide label in a populated example must not broaden your actual access.
- Choose Period, Selected period, History shown and Sort departments in View context.
- Check Workspace calendar, then choose Update view.
- Read Organization Contribution, Departments, Previous Period Change and Organization Contribution History together.
- Review Department Trends, Comparable Licensed Cohorts and Contribution Ranges with their availability and context.
Department Trends represents departments found among current eligible people, not every configured department. People without a current department can affect the organization aggregate while being absent from the department breakdown. Department counts and employee averages therefore need not reconcile as a simple average of department rows.
Organization-level evidence confidence is currently unavailable. Individual confidence labels and a healthy source preview must not be used to fabricate a confidence percentage for the whole organization. Cohort means and ranges remain descriptive even when their availability label says Available.
Read organization previews¶
Recent Recognition is a maximum-five badge selection for the chosen period when the current policy permits organization-visible recognition. It is not an exhaustive awards register and does not include every recognition class. Missing policy and a valid policy with no qualifying badges can both produce an empty preview. Do not conclude that nobody was recognized.
Source Coverage is a maximum-ten preview ordered by delay. Its entries are source/period information, not necessarily ten distinct sources. Read the state and limitation attached to each entry. Delivery completeness and eligibility for contribution processing are separate: records can be accepted, excluded or waiting for checks. Missing counts must remain unavailable rather than being shown as zero. Use evidence eligibility for interpretation. Use Open Source Health only when offered and authorized. Some source-health limits can make the complete organization read unavailable; choosing a shorter period may help when that is the stated reason.
Licensed People is a name-ordered preview. Choose Open Licensed People for the intended directory journey. Recognition, source coverage, department trends and employee preview do not share one combined next-page control.
Find a person in Licensed People¶
- Open Licensed People from the organization overview.
- Choose Period and Selected period. This directory shows the selected period's measure, without a multi-period history control.
- Enter part of a name in Search people, choose Sort employees, then choose Search.
- Read the returned name, job title, analytical role, department, contribution and evidence state.
- Choose Next when another page is available. The design shows Previous and a current page number, but no verified jump to a known last page.
- Choose View beside the intended person to open the authorized Employee Contribution journey when connected.
Search covers display names, not departments, job titles or arbitrary work content. Match behavior can depend on the database; no case-insensitive or fuzzy-search guarantee has been established. Changing the search, period or order requires a fresh collection. New membership or renamed people can change later pages; the list is not a saved snapshot.
The directory excludes you. Use My Orbit for your own personal view. No result does not prove that a person is absent from the workforce: they may be inactive, unlicensed, outside your current scope or unmatched by the search.
Read Employee Contribution¶
- Confirm the person's name, manager, department and job title.
- Choose Period, Selected period and History shown, then choose Update view.
- Read Current Contribution, Previous Period Change, Evidence Confidence and Contribution History.
- Review Returned Dimensions and their effective weights. Only returned dimensions should appear; an unavailable value is not zero.
- Read Previous Period Comparison only when the comparison is available. Use the Licensed People or Organization Overview breadcrumb for the intended return journey when connected.
A person can resolve successfully while every requested period has no contribution. The No contribution yet state keeps those periods unavailable, with no fabricated bars or dimensions. A missing manager or department label is a separate context limitation. Selecting one history period can leave no adjacent period to compare.
This view offers no edit, award, dispute submission, recalculation or direct evidence-investigation action in the inspected family. A confidence label does not supply missing source coverage or prove access to private underlying work. Use the original work reference through authorized support if a measure needs investigation.
Recover from empty, limited or failed views¶
| What you see | What to do |
|---|---|
| No Licensed Members to Show | Check the chosen department and current membership/license records. The example's selected-period wording is being reconciled; changing periods cannot restore a former member. |
| No comparable team pair returned | Other department evidence can still be useful. At least two represented manager teams are needed for a pair; a returned pair still needs contextual interpretation. |
| No Matching People | Clear the name search or try another name and choose Search. |
| No Licensed People | Check current access, employee identity, department scope and licensing. This is different from a name search with no match. |
| No Contribution Yet | Try another available period if appropriate. Missing measures do not prove that no work occurred. |
| Limited evidence or unavailable dimensions/comparison | Keep the unavailable values explicit. Review the evidence that is available without filling the gaps. |
| Loading, Updating or Searching | Wait for completion; this is not an empty result. |
| Temporarily unavailable | Retain your context. Choose Try again where offered, or return through the provided navigation. Persistent failure needs support, including the known integration concerns. |
| View missing or access denied | Ask the administrator to check current product access, permission and scope. Refreshing does not grant access. |
| HiveOrbit is not currently enabled | Ask the authorized administrator to review current setup and operating status. Preserve the selected view and period; repeating setup or requesting wider employee access does not repair the underlying condition. |
For support, provide the workspace, view, selected period, history length where applicable, timezone, search/order, approximate failure time and original reference where appropriate. Share private person or work details only through an authorized support channel. A retry does not create records, change licenses, rebuild history or guarantee immediate synchronization.
