Interpret insights in context

HiveOrbit helps people examine recorded work and supporting evidence. A useful discussion starts with what the view includes, how its numbers are defined and what remains unavailable.

A score or chart alone does not explain a person's circumstances, identify a cause or determine an employment decision. Use insight to ask better questions and examine the relevant work.

Draft and availability: The current frontend remains incomplete. The canonical guides describe the intended final-screen journeys and material backend calculation, coverage and connection limitations. This page does not certify a working reporting experience or complete contribution measurement.

Choose the view that matches the question

View Intended question Scope to check
My Orbit What contribution and recognition are recorded for me? Your permitted personal view, selected period and available evidence
Team Orbit What is recorded for my current direct reports? Current reporting relationships, permitted team access and visible page
Department Orbit What is recorded for the current licensed people in a permitted department? Current department and licensing rules
Organization Orbit What group context is available within my authorized organization scope? Actual authority; the page title does not guarantee organization-wide access
Employee Contribution What measures are available for a particular person? Current eligibility, licence and permitted scope
Recognition and Evidence Explorer What recorded recognition or claims can I inspect? Separate view permissions, visibility, source access and available proof

Read personal and team insights, department and organization insights and recognition evidence for the exact boundaries.

Before relying on any report, confirm that HiveOrbit setup has been completed and the workspace still meets its operating conditions. Saved configuration, current access, source readiness and permission are separate checks. Choosing an older period does not bypass today's availability or access requirements.

A manager's title alone does not grant access to every employee. A preview or visible evidence link does not independently authorize a protected source.

Separate contribution, points and awards

A contribution measure is a recorded analytical result for a period. Recognition points are signed ledger entries that can include awards and corrections. Recognition includes outcomes such as badges and milestones.

Selected-period points, retained lifetime points and a contribution measure describe different quantities. Recent recognition can also include items outside the selected history window.

Do not add these quantities together or interpret one as the monetary value of another. A progress indicator does not promise an award date, benefit or payment. Use recognition configuration to understand the relevant definitions and policies.

Check period and population before comparing

The workspace calendar determines period boundaries and timezone. An open period can still receive information.

Team and wider group history use current membership or licensing rules. A past-period chart therefore does not necessarily reconstruct the people, reporting lines or access that existed at that time. A former employee or someone outside current scope can be absent despite having historical work.

Group averages use available measures. A person without an available measure is not automatically included as zero. For example, measures of 80 and 100 average to 90; if a third current member has no available measure, the displayed member count can be three without making the average 60. These figures illustrate the rule and are not product defaults.

Before comparing periods, establish which people had measures in each period and whether their work and calculation context are comparable. The same current headcount does not prove the same historical denominator.

Treat missing information as missing

An absent period, dimension, source observation or proof can have several causes: unavailable data, incomplete processing, scope restrictions, missing configuration or a connection problem.

Do not replace it with zero, infer that no work occurred or fill it from a sample screen. A later populated period does not fill a gap in an earlier one.

The Source Health explanation distinguishes retained observations, source coverage and reconciliation. Delivery completeness, eligibility for processing and completed contribution calculation are separate. A received record can be accepted, excluded by the applicable time window or waiting for required checks; missing counts do not mean zero. The admission explanation describes those outcomes, and the source feature retains the remaining observation and period-accumulation limits. A Complete confidence label is not an independent certificate that every relevant source and work item was included.

Refreshing a view retrieves information. It does not rebuild history, repair the source, issue an award or change an employee's reporting line.

Read summaries within their bounds

A page or preview can describe less than the whole organization.

  • Team signal counts cover the visible page.
  • Recognition previews are bounded and affected by current visibility policy.
  • A people directory can exclude the viewer, inactive or unlicensed people, or those outside the current scope.
  • Different cohort, team-pair, evidence and recognition collections can have different limits and orderings.

A missing row or empty recognition preview does not prove no relevant work or award exists. A page of points is not necessarily the total for the entire history window.

Follow the detailed reader guides to understand the selected controls and returned limits. Do not construct another route to bypass a missing action or expand your scope.

Avoid conclusions the calculation does not support

A previous-period change is descriptive. It is not a cause, rating or automatically supported signal. A group mean is not a ranking.

The current group reads can combine different scoring contexts. A section described as comparable does not consistently prove common roles, model versions, work types, complexity or minimum group size. A one-person group's spread can be zero without proving fairness or evidence quality.

An Overload signal concerns recorded work against a configured standard; it does not diagnose health, effort or personal capacity. Under recognized is a prompt for review, not an entitlement to an award.

Use the canonical interpretation guidance and the knowledge of the people responsible for the work. Identify what additional evidence is needed before making a conclusion beyond the returned measure.

Investigate the work and its evidence

When a result is unexpected, record the workspace, view, scope, period, timezone and observation time. Identify whether the issue concerns access, population, missing evidence, a correction or a calculation.

Inspect the permitted source and available proof through recognition and supporting evidence. An evidence record, explanation, source document and source-health observation have separate access and completeness conditions. Evidence display now matches a person at the work's occurrence time. Missing or ambiguous matches remain unavailable while a claim can still be present. This is different from the current-membership rule used by group charts, and it does not resolve the evidence reader's separate sharing limitations.

Corrections can affect retained entries without establishing that every dependent period, award or historical view was rebuilt. Ask the authorized owner to reconcile the affected outcome rather than assume the next refresh completes recovery.

Discuss the limitations alongside the number. If the required context cannot be established, keep the conclusion open.

Keep other dashboards in their own context

HiveAI organization intelligence describes a different set of activity, quality and operational information. Its bounded work tools do not replace HiveOrbit contribution views or establish individual productivity.

HiveAI governance summaries and platform oversight also combine measures with different populations and time bases. Activity, received metrics, incidents, settled credits and service health are not interchangeable measures of adoption, answer quality or business value.

Use the definition and collection boundary for each measure. The adoption guide explains how to define a business outcome and observation method without assuming a dashboard already measures it.
